What composition are the MOLEKUR™ Series materials? How do they differ from other materials on the market? Any key advantages?

MOLEKUR™ Series materials are available in a variety of materials and structures, including PETG/PCTG, TPU, various multilayer materials, and EVA, covering application for aligners, retainers, template, and functional uses, meeting diverse clinical needs of different customers. *For detail product introduction, please refer to the product brochure or our website. Coherz boasts an interdisciplinary R&D team with years of deep-rooted expertise in materials science and extensive experience in the clear aligner industry. We place strong emphasis on R&D, as well as IP protection including patents. Our multiple self-developed intelligent production lines, coupled with robust large-scale manufacturing technique and flexible supply capacity, enable us to achieve flexible and rapid order delivery across dozens of SKUs. It is also complemented by strict quality control to ensure product consistency. Additionally, our professional team provides comprehensive support including pre-sales material selection advice, application problem diagnosis, and technical support.

What' s the difference between PETG and PCTG?

Both PCTG and PETG are copolyester materials. Compared to PETG, PCTG has a lower elastic modulus, making it "softer" and there by improving wearing comfort. Additionally, under complex mechanical conditions in the oral environment, PCTG exhibits significantly better flexibility than PETG, resulting in lower breakage rate during both clinical use and production. Therefore, for copolyester material, we currently focus on promoting our One S sub-series made of PCTG.

Do I have to use up all sheets once unpacking the bag? Can unused sheets be re-packed for later use?

It is recommended to use all sheets within 15 minutes after opening the aluminum foil bag. Moisture prevention: After unpacking, materials exposed to air will absorb moisture, which can cause bubbles during thermoforming, severely compromising the quality of aligners/retainers. Different materials have different water absorption rate based on their inherent properties; for instance, materials like TPU are highly sensitive to moisture. Even insensitive materials such as copolyester may also suffer performance degradation after prolonged air exposure. Quality Assurance: Coherz maintains strict control during production and packaging over time, temperature, and humidity to ensure optimal quality for materials. It would be difficult for self-repackaging of the unused sheets to replicate these standards, posing potential quality risks. Solution: To accommodate clients' needs with varying production rhythms, we offer small packages (e.g., 50m roll). For customized requirements, please contact our sales team.

Does the product come with a protective film?

Our Standard product offers two options: Single-side protective film: Clients can thermoform with or without the film. The protective film safeguards the sheet against scratch during packaging and transportation. Additionally, it can reduce the replication of layer lines of 3D printed dental model during thermoforming to some extent, and also prevent residue resin pollution, leading to better transparency of the finished aligners. Without protective film: Ideal for customers looking to stream line operation process, prioritize production efficiency, or have specific process requirements.

Is there recommended parameters for different materials?

Optimal thermoforming parameters must be adjusted based on the specific material type, thickness, device (brand/model of thermoforming machines), and operating environment. Coherz provides detailed operating guidelines with initial parameter recommendations for each type of material. We strongly recommend that customers verify parameters based on their actual operational procedures, production environment, and process technique during validation.

What is the main business of Coherz and what qualifications does it hold?

We specialize in the R&D, production and sales of high-performance orthodontic materials, as well as comprehensive application solutions for clear aligners, serving global clear aligner brands, dental laboratories, and dental institutions. We established quality management system based on GMP requirements and has been granted ISO 13485 Certificate by TUVSUD. Our core products are certified with registrations such as NMPA, FDA, and CE. We've been exporting to major global markets such as Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Australia.

What causes bubbles on sheets during thermoforming?

The most common cause of bubbling issue is moisture absorption, especially for moisture-sensitive materials like TPU. When the materials exposed to air for too long (more than recommended), it absorbs moisture from air, creating bubbles during thermoforming. Strictly following the guideline of using the sheets as soon as possible after unpacking is key to preventing this issue. High environmental humidity can also increase this risk.

What is Multi-layer Material? What advantages does it offer compared to Single-layers?

Single-layer material: it' s composed of one single raw material; Multi-layer material: it' s co-extruded from multiple raw materials. Through structural design, multi-layer combines advantages of different materials, overcoming performance limitations of one single material, resulting in superior comprehensive performance. Clinically, this provides doctors and clients with greater operational flexibility, while improving wearing experience, fitness, durability, and treatment efficiency of aligners.

What is the bio-compatibility standard for MOLEKUR™ Series? Is it safe for oral applications?

All raw materials used for MOLEKURTM Series are medical-grade. Our materials comply with international standards such as ISO 10993, and have undergone rigorous bio-compatibility tests (including cytotoxicity, sensitization, and oral mucosa irritation), which ensures reliable quality in oral use.

What is the shelf life of MOLEKUR™ Series materials? Is there any storage requirements?

When kept in original packaging (vacuumed aluminum foil bag with desiccant) and stored in a cool, dry environment without direct sunlight, the standard shelf life of our materials is 3 years (please refer to the product label for details). Once opened, the product should be used as soon as possible.
